As previously reported, Toyota partnered with Tesla to develop all-electric versions of the RAV4 and Lexus RX SUVs. Earlier this summer, the Japanese maker declined to confirm the two models, but today announced that the RAV4 EV will have its world premiere at this year's edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Aside from the announcement and two cropped images, the Japanese company did not release any additional info on the RAV4 EV. However, according to recent reports, Executive Vice-President Takeshi Uchiyamada has stated that the all-electric SUV model will roll into showrooms by 2012.
We'll bring you more information on the RAV4 EV as it comes in.
